Several friends and roommates had already joined the chapter, so the spring of my sophomore year, I decided to join as well. What did your undergraduate experience in the Florida Epsilon Chapter mean to you? Brotherhood and friendship are at the top. It also gave me a real sense of belonging to something special and long term. If you could relive any memory with your fraternity brothers, what would it be? While all the partying was fun, but there were a number of candlelight meetings I found to be particularly special. What offices did you hold as an undergraduate? As an alumnus? I was the chapter treasurer, and I was a part of the President's Club at FSU. How did the fraternity prepare you for life after college? Because of my time with ATO, I learned how to relate to all types of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and perspectives. Do you keep in touch with any of your fraternity brothers? There are too many to count. The guys I am closest to are Dave Cornell '85, Chris Diaz '85, Jay Williams '89, Chris Groves '89, and Jorge Ramirez '85. Though, there are plenty of other brothers I am glad I keep connected with. Why do you feel it is important for all alumni to reconnect or stay in touch with the chapter? It is important to maintain these connections that were built so we can help people understand how life-long they really will be. What advice would you give to undergraduates or to younger alumni who are early in their careers? Work hard and have fun. There are not short cuts in life, and if you are working hard and having fun, you are not looking for any. What are some highlights from your professional career? Some highlights include making partner at PwC, becoming managing partner at PwC Indianapolis, becoming the CFO of Anthems commercial business—a $42 billion organization, and becoming president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia. The thing I have enjoyed most is helping other people succeed. I believe when you help others move forward, they will lift you up as well. What is your secret to success? Hard work and flexibility, while having fun all at the same time. What are some of your hobbies? I like to golf, go shooting, drink bourbon and wine, smoke cigars, and listen to country music. Jeff lives in Richmond Hill, Georgia, with his wife, Teresa. They have four children, Regina (17), Joe and Alex (14), who are boy and girl twins, and Wade (13).
