Weddings Kiser & Jackson Lauren Kiser and Matt Jackson Nov. 28, 2009 Matt and Lauren were married at St. Mary’s Chapel in Charlotte, but the wedding adventure began right here. Matt picked downtown Fayetteville as the place to pop the question last fall. He is an accountant who grew up in Fayetteville, graduating from Douglas Byrd High School. She is a sales manager. Photo courtesy of Amy Free Photography Browning & Vannoy Sheppard & McLaughlin Jami Sheppard and Chris McLaughlin Oct. 3, 2009 Jami and Chris were married beneath the lit cross overlooking Lake Junaluska where Chris’ family has had a second home for more than 40 years. Set to the tune of a bagpipe prelude, the couple exchanged vows in a traditional ceremony then danced the night away with a reception at The Gateway Club in the heart of downtown Waynesville. Jami is downtown development manager for the City of Fayetteville. Chris is a professional artist and craftsman. The couple currently lives in the Fayetteville area. In fact, it even has its own title: “Hitched,” says the poster still hanging in the lobby of the Cameo Art House Theatre in downtown Fayetteville. It was also the place where Brook and Jason exchanged vows last fall. Jason works as an independent contractor. Brook is a physical therapist at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
