Help out of the rough The Rev. Dan Alger is pastor of The Church of the Apostles in Gray’s Creek and a long-time contributor to CityView. His popular column is now a blog, too. You can join the conversation as he tackles issues of faith on CityViewNC.com. Help Out of the Rough (Posted Feb. 15) Whether you like Fox News or you call it Faux News is not what I am concerned with right now. Dan Alger, In your recent CityView column you asked readers to share their thoughts and experiences on being Christian. You encouraged your readers to ask questions and you promised to listen and to hear. I am seeking understanding of those who use Christianity as a sword instead of a bridge. The following is an email that was sent by an associate pastor at a local church to Upward Basketball coaches regarding their roles in the program. Perhaps in his heart he felt that he was doing the right thing when he referred to the Catholic faith as one that “does not follow or preach the gospel.” Can you explain to me how someone can call
