10 Think Back. Think Big. Think Beta. G amma Lambda finished the spring semester with an outstanding per- formance on multiple fronts. We have continued excelling in academ- ics, recruitment, and campus involvement, which has allowed us to continue as a leadership example to the OSU Greek community. Chapter Achieves Third-Highest GPA Our men of principle continued cultivating their intellect by finishing third in grades with a cumulative GPA of 3.4098. Even with the highest number of active members and pledges at OSU with a total of 169 men, we con- tinue to outperform the all-fraternity GPA of 3.16 and the all-men's GPA of 2.82. Gamma Lambda Welcomes 43 New Pledges On a more recent note, this fall, Gamma Lambda had the privilege of initiating 15 members of the Alpha Zeta pledge class, honorary initiating Chad Colvin '20, a member of the Alpha Alpha pledge class, who re- cently passed away, and pledging 43 new men for this year's fall pledge class. Gamma Lambda has also shown excellence in our athletic endeav- ors. The chapter has earned first place in intramurals once again this year, this being the seventh time in the last eight years. Brothers Awarded First Place in Freshman Follies We also displayed our vocal and choreography talents in the annual Fresh- man Follies and Varsity Revue competitions. We paired with the women of Zeta Tau Alpha for both of these shows and were very successful. The Varsity Revue show, "Stuck in Metropolis," took second place overall and three other awards for most philanthropic, most entertaining, and best vo- cals. The Freshman Follies show, "Little Less Bad Wolf," won first place overall, best vocals, and all of the remaining male awards including best male director, performer, and follies. As for what is to come, the newly re- cruited fall pledge class of 43 men is overflowing with talent and there are high hopes for their upcoming Freshman Follies performance of "What's Inside" with the women of Kappa Alpha Theta. Gamma Lambda Strives to Hone Leadership Skills Gamma Lambda participated in America's Greatest Homecoming on Octo- ber 14 by holding our annual concert on the lawn. The concert opened with Cultivating Men of Principle Gamma Lambda Leads OSU's Greek Community Gamma Lambda takes first place in Freshman Follies for Little Less Bad Wolf. Griffin Amen '20, Corey Collins '20, Drew Wooten '20, Grant Evans '20, and Hunter Purdue '20. Gamma Lambda's very own Corey Kent White '16, former contestant on The Voice, and closed with William Clark Green. This winter, we also plan to take several members to The John and Nelle Wooden Institute in Oxford, Ohio, to further cultivate leadership qualities within our ranks. Due to the efforts of our advisory team, led by Jody Vivi- an '09 and our national leadership consultant, Zane Carlson, Knox '16, we have been able to make great strides toward reaching goals and improving leadership among our members. As always, thank you to all of our alumni. You are the reason Gamma Lambda has such a strong foundation and continues to improve. Whenever you find yourselves in Stillwater, the Beta house will always be open. I encourage you to meet some of the undergraduates and see for yourselves the high quality of men that represent Gamma Lambda today. Yours in _kai_, Kevin Quinn '18, Chapter President kevinjq@okstate.edu Brothers from the chapter enjoy the annual float trip.
