Box 442100 Lawrence, KS 66044-2100 Address Service Requested ALUMNI UPDATE CHAPTER ETERNAL Myron Atkinson Jr. '49 passed on to Chapter Eternal on June 12, in Bismarck, N.D., aer a brief illness. He had remained active in business, community, family, and recreational activities until his illness. John Sagehorn, D.D.S. '55 passed on to Chap- ter Eternal on July 25. He practiced dentistry for more than 50 years in Long Lake, Minn. He is survived by his spouse, Mary, and children, Julie and Tim. ALUMNI NEWS Jay Soper '57 mourns the loss of his wife, Carole Bekke. She passed away in August 2016. E-mail: cbekkesoper@gmail.com Gerald Van Eeckhout '62 spent time on two company boards, one in Minneapolis and one in Beijing, plus a UND board. He enjoys develop- ing music, art, literature, etc., in a small Mexican village to honor their culture. Gerald also enjoys skiing, biking, and spending time with his five grandchildren. E-mail: chairrman@gmail.com Michael Hegarty '64 was on active duty for the Air Force from 1965-70 as a F-4C pilot in Oki- nawa, ailand, and England. He was with TWA for three months until Furhough in 1970. Mi- chael then served with the UND aviation depart- ment from 1973-74, then FedEx from 1974-2001. E-mail: mjhheg@hotmail.com Mark McGuire '68 draed and served in Viet- nam in the 101st Airborne Division aer he graduated from UND. Upon discharge from the Army, he attended the University of Nebraska College of Law and has engaged in private law practice in Lincoln, Neb., ever since. His wife, Jane, and children, Anne, Jim, and Julia, enjoy traveling and vacationing at their Minnesota lake cabin. Mark plans on retiring in 2018. Bob Gillen '94 is a general manager for the May- sa Arena, and a section representative for North- ern Plains District girl's/women's USA hockey. He is the owner and operator of www.ndhigh- schoolhockey.com where he is also the boy's and girl's hockey high school statistician.
