With the acquisition of our charter and of an incredible house for our Chapter, we've got a tremendous amount of momentum that we don't intend to lose anytime soon. Over the summer and beginning of the fall semester, our recruitment team secured a pledge class of 30 men who are now undergoing their pledge process. The education team has risen to the challenge and is responsibly guiding our soon-to-be brothers in the history and lore of the Fraternity, as well as personal and professional development. As we've grown in operational excellence, we have also grown in number (now more than 118 members), in scale of events, and in the good we are able to do for our community (with service and philanthropy events). Our leadership is becoming keener on best practices, logging everything we learn for the sake of the future leaders of the Chapter. We rarely make the same mistake twice. The house, won by the devoted men of our TBSAF house corporation and selfless donors, came as a surprise this summer and is feeling more like home. There are renovations to be done and furnishings to be acquired, but the facilities have already proven their use for Chapter operations like meetings, recruitment and general events. Since joining Beta two years ago, it's been nothing short of a blessing to lead and serve these men I've come to love as brothers. Having grown from an underdog in the Greek community at UT into an organizational giant with a powerful reputation, it's not surprising that we won UT Fraternity of the Year last semester (and you bet we're gunning for it again). Although it continues to be a rough climb as we face many obstacles and challenges along the way, we won't let up, because we know what we're building is worth it. What we've done and what we have yet to do is worth everything we can give. Yours in _kai_, Jacob Villarreal '18 Chapter President jacobavillarreal@gmail.com Officers after a Chapter meeting. Brotherhood events like fishing and playing golf at Top Golf keep the Chapter bonded. 2017 Beta Omicron Awards and Recognition Advisory Team of the Year, National Convention UT Dean of Students Outstanding Fraternity Chapter of the Year This award recognizes the fraternity chapter that has demonstrated significant commitment to all the sorority and fraternity life values, including service, scholastic achievement, community building, and leadership.
