NEBRASKA CHAPTER 5 G reetings from the Nebraska Chapter of FarmHouse. As you read this, we're settled into our temporary home in Latitude Apartments and well into the fall semester's activities. SUMMER HIGHLIGHTS AND RECRUITMENT Our recruitment team, led by Jacob White '16, finished the summer with a new class of 31 recruits, which includes high-achieving Regents' and Engler scholars among many legacies from Colorado, Minnesota, and Nebraska. We would especially like to thank all alumni for their recommendations and support. FALL HIGHLIGHTS We have placed a heavy emphasis on establishing a strong brotherhood knowing that incorporating the new members would be a challenge without our usual proximity. To implement this, we've planned weekly events that include grill-outs, camping, or attending church. We adapted our meetings to take place in the Union and cater a meal to continue Monday-night dinners. Finally, we created community hours where active members visit the freshman class in the dorms each Wednesday night. The focus of these events is creating a tight-knit sense of community. While some events require adaptation, other aspects remain the same. We kicked off philanthropy season with Scoops for Schools benefitting the after-school Lighthouse Program, followed by Totally Baldacious benefitting the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Many of our members serve in organizations throughout campus and the Lincoln community, and we remain committed to the academic work required to continue achieving the highest GPA among fraternities. STAY TUNED AND STAY CONNECTED More and more I realize the importance of every detail in creating a larger culture. Thank you, alumni, for your continued support, whether lending your guidance, attendance at our events, or taking part in the capital campaign to drive our fraternity forward. Each act of service is recognized and appreciated, and we look forward to opening the doors of FarmHouse's brand-new home with you next year.
