Recent events like hosting Purdue President Daniels, winning the National Council Trophy, and being #1 in grades cement our culture of excellence. PHASE TWO OF CENTENNIAL PROJECTS COMPLETE Phase two of our centennial project is now complete except for hanging the new drapes and pictures. The first floor entry has been widened to welcome guests into our Alpha Beta home. The twin trophy cases displaying our history are perfect bookends to the dining room entrance, which looks all the way through to the new windows that open up to the golf course and the french doors leading to the patio. The old wood floors have been replaced with wood tile. There is now an accessible glass door leading to the patio that was poured in 1964. If the budget permits, we will install a new patio next summer with a sidewalk leading to accessible parking. The carnation bathroom has been redone and is accessible as well. The kitchenette has been moved to the back of the dining room, next to the new serving line, where women have 24-hour access to coffee, juice, snacks, and a refrigerator for late plates. This area can be closed off by beautiful black sliding barn doors. The kitchenette would be a wonderful naming opportunity for a generous contributor to our campaign. The kitchen was expanded into the old kitchenette and the pantry opened up to create a more efficient space. MORE DONORS NEEDED TO MEET CAMPAIGN GOAL Our House Corporation has a history of doing projects right the first time, while being fiscally responsible. For example, we replaced and added to the existing dining room windows and doors instead of the extended plan originally advertised, while still achieving the desired effect. As 2017 winds down, we look forward to an exciting 2018. We must raise the final $350,000 to meet our $1 million campaign goal and complete final projects. Projects left on the docket are a new patio, lighted walkway for accessibility, educational extensions to our library and executive office that will coincide with dock and parking improvements to the back, and a facade update to the front that will also replace a worn mansard front on the third floor, which is quite costly. Thank you to the 215 alumnae and friends who have donated so far. We would not have completed these projects without your generous contributions. Now we turn to the rest of you who have not yet made a gift. Will you give to celebrate 100 years of Alpha Beta? Will you help us finish the job? Your pledge can be spread over five years, making your gift more affordable. Please use the enclosed pledge form or visit www.axo.kintera. org/AlphaBetaCampaign to donate. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. A permanent plaque decorated with the names of those who give at least $2,500 will hang in the front hall forever, commemorating our centennial celebration. This is a gift of the heart to our beloved Alpha Beta Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, as we "celebrate our past and secure our future." "Together, let us seek the heights."
