ow is the time to invest in the chapter house to meet
the needs of current and future Kappas. rough care-
ful study, assessment, and planning, it has been deter-
mined that updates to and an expansion of the chapter house are
necessary. e eta Chapter House Board and undergraduate
leadership, working with Scroggs Architecture P.C. in Columbia,
have developed a solid plan to address the long-term viability of
the Kappa experience at Mizzou.

Goals of the Expansion
and Renovation
• Increase the number of women who can live in the
house from 88 to 99 in two-woman bedrooms to allow
for more women to live in while also providing a more
comfortable living environment
• Expand and renovate the kitchen and dining room,
providing staff with a more functional space to prepare
meals and dining space for the members
• Improve HVAC, electrical system, and plumbing
• Provide additional study rooms for individual and
group study, giving members the opportunity to
complete school work in a comfortable, quiet space
• Expand the chapter room to accommodate the larger
membership
• Update and remodel the house director's suite
• Install a handicapped accessible elevator
• Build a new exterior deck to provide valuable outdoor
living space
