Our History of Excellence
S
ince our founding in 1875 as the first sorority on campus,
Kappa Kappa Gamma has been at the heart of Greek
life at the University of Missouri. With more than 4,100
initiates, eta Chapter has nurtured and educated women
during their college years, developing lasting friendships in the
process. As alumnae, we can trace many of our best Mizzou
memories back to Kappa.
For many years, young women have chosen Kappa Kappa
Gamma to be part of their collegiate and lifetime experiences.
While there may be some differences in today's chapter
compared to the one you knew, the fundamental ideals of Kappa
Kappa Gamma continue to thrive at the University of Missouri.
Sororities continue to play a significant role in the development
of young women, and eta Chapter is no exception. In addition
to the standards taught by our sisterhood, we acquired valuable
skills—leadership, teamwork and character. We learned to seek
the best in every person and every situation. Oen, these traits
have been integral to personal success and helped make us the
women we are today.
Our home at 512 E. Rollins is the center of undergraduate life
for eta Chapter collegians. It has been a place of comfort and
community for thousands of young women, a classroom where
both our new and active members have experienced bonds of
friendship, mutual support, opportunities for self-growth, and
intellectual development. It has been a home away from home
for so many Kappas throughout the years.
Our wish is that eta Chapter continues its strong presence
at Mizzou and meets the needs of the ever-changing collegiate
environment. As alumnae, we have been entrusted with
perpetuating this tradition of excellence for the next generation.
It is our collective privilege to provide chapter members with a
safe and high-quality home where these traditions may continue.
Now is the time to secure the future of Kappa Kappa Gamma at
the University of Missouri.
