R E D S T O N E A C T S O F B R I G H T N E S S WATCH FOR THEM DURING 2017! 8 | r e d f c u.o r g I N O U R C O M M U N I T I E S Since its kick-off in February 2017, Redstone Federal Credit Union has spent more than $114,000 in the community for Redstone Acts of Brightness, impacting nearly 24,000 people, including all students in the Madison County school system. Our most recent Acts of Brightness occurred in July on Alabama's and Tennessee's tax-free weekends. In August, Brightness Crews paid utility bills. Crews surprised teachers, parents, grandparents and college students who were out shopping for back to school in North Alabama and Middle Tennessee. e Brightness Crews paid for all school-related items in their carts, including laptop computers, printers, reams of paper, backpacks, clothing and much more. "Go pick out a backpack for school and we'll buy it for you today," said Acts of Brightness team member Ian Pinkerton, explaining the campaign to a young girl and her mom. Stores in Madison, Marshall, Jackson, Morgan and Limestone counties, and Lincoln and Rutherford counties in Tennessee allowed our crews inside to surprise random shoppers. At the Office Depot in Murfreesboro, the Jett Family was only buying a few items because the dad had lost his job the week before. Redstone Federal Credit Union's Acts of Brightness crews are spreading kindness across North Alabama. Later, the mom posted on Facebook that their youngest son, Benjamin, was so excited about his new school supplies, he could barely sleep the night before school. Tyrone and Tonya Douglas live in New Hope, Alabama, with their five children and are Redstone members. ey couldn't stop smiling after everyone got shoes.
