THE SKULL & CROSSBONES SOCIETY MEMBERS p. 2 TEXAS ALPHA ACCOLADE T he Education Foundation is looking to build on the continued success of the Skull & Crossbones Society. As you know by now, the Skull & Crossbones Society is the designation for our annual sustaining gi level of $240 per year (lump sum or monthly options available). If you're not already a member, you should be. Al- though we have grown our number significantly over the last couple of years since inception, we need additional members so that we can grow the corpus of the Foundation. As we grow the corpus we can provide more leadership oppor- tunities for the officers and key members of our undergraduate chapter members. We have around 200 members and that almost covers our annual costs for scholarships, Found- ers' Day, educational program registrations and travel, as well as other expenses to the benefit of our undergraduates and alumni. It's our goal to exceed 300 annual members in this group in the Like Father, Like Son Kregg Jodie '87, Brandon Jodie '20 Share Texas Alpha Pride A lot has changed for Tex- as Alpha since Kregg Jodie '87 called Texas Al- pha his college home. Pledge classes have come and gone, awards have been won, and the chapter house itself has un- dergone a major transforma- tion. rough all the changes, Kregg's pride in Texas Alpha has never wavered, and last fall, he was able to share that pride with not only his frater- nity brothers, but also his son, Brandon '20. "Sharing SigEp with Brandon has been very meaningful and strengthened our bond," Kregg said. "Texas Alpha develops strong bonds between members, develops leaders, and supports the education process." Kregg enjoys telling his son about his favorite memories from his time in Texas Alpha almost as much as Brandon enjoys hearing them. Despite be- ing active members at different times, the father-son pair's favorite frater- nity experiences are game day activities and group trips—specifically ski trips. "I joined SigEp because I saw great potential in my pledge class and I liked the reputation they had on campus," Brandon said. "It's really great to be able to share in the traditions and share stories across a generation." Brandon is a business honors major and hopes to work in banking or con- sulting upon graduation. As for Kregg, he started his professional career at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) in 1987 and moved to Mary Kay Cosmetics in 1993 and has been the chief information officer since 1997. As an executive for Mary Kay for 20 years, he helped launch internet applica- tion early in his career and has been responsible for the brand's overall busi- ness strategy. "SigEp gave me a great social network and also significantly improved my leadership skills, which has been critical in my career," he said. Kregg has stayed involved with Texas Alpha through Brandon and also hosts brothers at his lake house each year for a golf tournament. Addition- ally, he attends as many alumni gatherings as possible and contributes to Texas Alpha financially. Kregg and his wife, Julie, also have a daughter, Me- gan, who graduated from UT in 2016.
