April 2010 Big Sweep Help keep the water in Cumberland County clean and beautiful by partici- pating in the NC Big Sweep Spring Watershed Clean-up. Starting at 9 am on Saturday, May 1, volunteers will remove litter from streams and lakes around Cumberland County, with 99 other NC counties also cleaning their waterways. To volunteer or learn more, call 910-257-7614. May Day at the Garden PWC invites you to celebrate the Earth during May Day at the Cape Fear Botanical Garden on Sunday, May 2. The admission-free festivities are spon- sored by PWC. The Garden opens at 1 pm and children’s make-and-take earth- friendly crafts will be available.
