"Fireball XL5" (NBC, 1963-65) Also a favorite of many young viewers at the time, this adventure using the "Supermarionation" process of producers Gerry and Sylvia Anderson followed Colonel Steve Zodiac and his team on their World Space Patrol assignments. "Space: 1999" (syndicated, 1975-77): The aforementioned Anderson spouses were creators, writers and producers on this drama that featured then-married "Mission: Impossible" alums Martin Landau and Barbara Bain as two occupants of Moonbase Alpha, thrust deep into the galaxy by a thermonuclear explosion.
