7 Bishop Seabury Academy Annual Report of Giving 2016-2017 FROM THE HEAD OF SCHOOL I t is a great pleasure to have students and teachers back in our hallways, and we are off to a great start with the 2017-18 school year. I am also very excited to be celebrating our 20th anniversary! Like so many important moments in life, these two decades of Seabury have passed very quickly, yet we have grown so radically that the school's history seems much longer. On behalf of the students, parents, and staff, I want to thank everyone who has helped our school continue to prosper. Last year, the support of our auction patrons helped us outfit the gymnasium with new equipment, provide the music program with new choral risers, underwrite additional student financial assistance, and renovate classroom space and the student social space in the foyer. Providing a math classroom with new educational furnishings that reinforce effective learning strategies and outfitting the foyer with furniture that encourages community engagement and a proper environment for study— these changes are the beginning of an effort to modernize school facilities. The students have taken note of these changes, and they are pumped! This is going to be an exciting year. Yours respectfully, Dr. Schawang Prefects leading the students in the 2017-18 school year. Mr. LaRocca and Mr. Smith came back to new furnishings, carpet, and fresh paint! Paint in this room, and throughout the school, was courtesy of a True Value Hardware grant. The music department's new choral risers. The first student senate meeting with sponsor Ms. Czarnecki. Seabury middle school students ready for the school year!
