The Beacon 2 leadership positions on campus. The efforts of our chapter's founding fathers and dedicated members who came before us, paid off when the Delta Kappa Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega was awarded the President's Trophy for Most Outstanding Fraternity on campus! The award proved to all of us that our dedication to our fraternity can result in such an amazing outcome. Receiving the award not only reinforces our passion for Alpha Tau Omega, and the culture we have established at Delta Kappa, but gives us the drive to win multiple awards in the future. "I've had a wonderful career where ATW was foundational to my later success," he says. "My ATW brothers have been so important to me, so I try to give back when I can." Although the Alumni Association had taken a short hiatus when the chapter was fundraising for the campaign for Delta Kappa, Bob encourages alumni to see the importance of this organization and what can be accomplished when they engage and work together as a collective group. The goal of the alumni association, Bob says, is "to make our alumni base as strong as the chapter has become." In reflecting on lessons learned and fond memories at Delta Kappa, he mentions that being an ATW member taught him life lessons that he still uses today. "On a personality scale, I am really an introvert," Bob says. "But the fraternity helped me to be an extrovert and opened capabilities I didn't know I had." Bob says the memories in ATW are too numerous to name. "At the end of the day, it's not the education, it's not your career, it's the relationships you establish with your brothers that allow you to be successful in life," Bob says. He is still involved with the University of Oklahoma as he serves on the advisory board for the chemical engineering program. When he's not giving back to ATW, he spends time working, traveling with Cyndy, his wife of 38 years, and enjoying his two daughters and two- year-old granddaughter.
