FALL 2019 Grand opening of the new Alpha Omega house SPRING 2017 Alpha Omega Chapter is reinstalled and new members are initiated surrounded by Alpha Omega alumnae and Delta Gamma Fraternity special visitors FALL 2017 Capital campaign publically announced and Alpha Omega chapter members participate in their first formal recruitment SPRING 2018 Construction begins on chapter house 2017 2018 2019 Our Needs and Opportunities OUR HOME ON MAPLE STREET Dropping our anchor on Maple Street was an important objective in determining where the new chapter would be housed. Alpha Omega's previous home at 1002 West Maple now houses offices for University Development and is owned by the University of Arkansas. Delta Gamma considered the possibility of returning to its former home but concluded that a new building that could safely accommodate a chapter size of 400+ would be a more competitive option. Just as every effort has been made to support the success of Alpha Omega's reestablishment, every effort must also be made to provide a safe, competitive facility for Alpha Omega's collegiate sisters. Delta Gamma will build at 625 W. Maple. Our Maple Street frontage spans the entire block between Arkansas Avenue and Gregg Street. PURSUING EXCELLENCE The University of Arkansas is as academically challenging as ever and the need for an enhanced, quiet, well-lit and comfortable study space within our facility is necessary for our members to achieve. Plans include ample small group, large group and co-ed study space, all supported with the latest technology to support our members' tech-savvy needs. Our plan will ensure that Alpha Omega members excel academically and remain scholastic leaders on campus and within the Greek community. GROWTH ON CAMPUS The University of Arkansas enrollment continues to grow and will exceed 28,000 with a fall 2017 freshman class well over 5,000. This exponential growth is also present in the record number of young women participating in formal recruitment. In 2017, over 1,700 women participated in formal recruitment. With chapter sizes over 400, Delta Gamma's importance to the University of Arkansas cannot be understated. Membership in the Alpha Omega Chapter helps create a support system and deeper connection to the University by providing a sense of community within the campus. Our sisterhood has a great opportunity to offer a community and physical home for the next generation of leaders. SETTING DELTA GAMMA APART For Alpha Omega to continue to attract the top women at the University of Arkansas, we must provide a chapter facility that is competitive with other sororities on campus. Chi Omega, Kappa Kappa Gamma and Pi Beta Phi have completed their expansions. Zeta Tau Alpha and Delta Delta Delta expansions are underway. Phi Mu and Alpha Chi Omega have broken ground on their new homes. Kappa Delta is expected to begin projects soon. We must also compete with the amenities offered in newly renovated on- campus residence halls and off-campus apartments. Now is the time to set Delta Gamma apart from the others and solidify our legacy on campus.
