p. 2 The SigEp Seminole T his semester, our Chapter made it a mission to continue a path of prog- ress and excitement on campus with academic, philanthropic, and in- volvement success. We made strides not only on campus but also in the community as our men have a drive to better those around them. $72,000 Raised We continued the year with the second annual Vets VS. Cadets flag football game. The games consisted of two teams: veterans and members of the ROTC program. The Chapter was able to raised $1,500 for the Collegiate Veterans Association. SigEp teamed up with four other fraternities and par- ticipated in Line Dance: Showcase of the Arts. Participants raised $72,000 and the beneficiaries were the College of Business, Victim Advocate Pro- gram, and the Collegiate Veterans Association. "Line Dance was one of my most favorite causes that we have had the op- portunity to get behind being that it was our first time in the philanthropy. It really put things in perspective because we helped throw an event for a cause much greater than ourselves," says Corey Geer '18, vice president of philanthropy. Chapter Recruitment As of right now, the Chapter is standing strong. We are looking to grow our membership to be a consistent force of 150. The last two classes have made wonderful contributions to the Chapter and have the desire to make an impact as leaders on our campus and in our community. "Being vice president of member development has been one of the best experiences of my life. It has allowed to me directly have an impact on the young men in our Chapter and help them grow into the leaders we know they are capable of being," says Ben Horn '18. We are extremely excited to be paired with Alpha Chi Omega for Home- coming this fall. On December 8, our Chapter, along with Alpha Delta Pi, worked at the Kearney Center in Tallahassee to help children who are less fortunate than us. Father's Weekend We held our first-ever Father's Weekend for the men at the Chapter House this fall. It was amazing having our fathers around and showing them first- hand the great things we are doing on campus. We also wanted to thank them for the support that they provide the Chapter and for their sons be- cause without a strong support system, it is tough to move forward. This semester, we placed a great emphasis on intramural sports as we made it to the semifinals in three different sports. Softball was our strongest sport and it really rallied the Chapter around a cause and showed that we can win in any endeavor we put our minds to. New Year with New Goals As a Chapter, we accomplished many of the goals we sought after and have positioned ourselves for continued success in the fall. We have goals to cre- ate new philanthropies, bring in more leaders on campus, and to ultimately dominate every area here at Florida State University. I would like to thank Florida Epsilon Teams Up with Other Fraternities to Raise $72,000 STANDING STRONG our alumni for the support they offer because without them our Chapter would not be where it is today. Please send me recruitment recommenda- tions for men attending Florida State this fall. Our Chapter House doors are always open for alumni and we would love for you to visit and share stories from your college experience.
