NBC news at 6 each evening is "anchored" by Brian Williams. We know that he, and his brethren, utilize a teleprompter. It is the thing to do in order to maintain eye contact with the viewing audience. But the other night, I observed him standing before the camera with a several sheets of paper in his hand. Why is that? He never glances at the papers. Are they just a prop? Are they a confirmation of his reservation for dinner after the show?
