Together, we hosted Sexual Assault Awareness Week, a week full of daily activities that were either fundraisers or informational sessions to educate students on sexual assault. A total of $1,300 was raised toward the goal of getting Take Defense to Missouri S&T. SigEp MO Gamma saw an opportunity in the mining department to become an invaluable resource. The department puts on a couple large-scale programs during the year in which they need manpower and were undergoing construction at the experimental mine. MO Gamma had two service days at the mine in which we picked up debris in the new building, cleaned up trash in the surrounding area, moved rocks, and cut down trees. The department also put on a mine rescue competition in which colleges competed and companies sent their mine rescue teams for practice. Our members contributed 75 hours in a three-day span during a school week. The mining department told our Chapter that they couldn't have done it without SigEp. We would like to congratulate SigEp Dr. Braden Lusk '00 on being named chair of the mining and nuclear engineering departments. We look forward to working with Dr. Lusk as the Chapter continues our work with the mining department.
