Alabama Beta Leads in Academics Undergraduates Build Connections with Alumni, Parents, and One Another O nce again, Alabama Beta has obtained the highest fraternity GPA on campus with a 3.54 GPA, with the next closest being a 3.31 GPA. This makes nine consecutive semesters and 15 out of the last 16 semesters that we've earned this honor. Our new member GPA was 3.46 last fall, also ranking first among all fraternities on campus. I am very proud to lead this distinguished group of young men. Along with our Chapter's superb GPA, the Fraternity was honored to receive awards from the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life during their Greek Excellence Award ceremony. These awards included the Diversity Award, which is awarded to the chapter that reports the most diversity through extracurricular activities, academics, intramurals, and other aspects; and the Membership Development Award, which is awarded to the chapter that reflects some of the highest principles of continuing member education through events, mentoring, and excellent leadership. This spring, our Chapter welcomed six new members who have completed their Sigma challenge and started on their Phi challenge. We've held numerous billiards tournaments for all brothers, hosted our annual mountain weekend trip, and hosted our cigar and poker nights for the development of brotherhood. In March, we welcomed parents and alumni for a fun-filled weekend planned by Vice President of Communications Alex Mazzaferro '19. Friday night kicked off with a cocktails at a local venue in Tuscaloosa where parents, alumni, and undergraduates enjoyed a nice evening on the town. Saturday was our annual golf tournament with a spectacular showing of parents and alumni. The weekend concluded with Sunday brunch at the Chapter House. The men of Alabama Beta strive to be the best in our dedication and hard work toward academics, brotherhood, and community service. The Chapter is always excited to meet future, present, and past members of Sigma Phi Epsilon, and we hope to see you at an upcoming event. Please contact me if you have any questions or comments; I am always happy to talk.
