Katherine Parrish Whitbeck '79 is a journalism
teacher and serves as a student council advisor at
Nacogdoches High School. She is also a doctoral
candidate in educational leadership at Stephen
F. Austin State University. Katherine and her
husband, Steve, celebrated their 30th anniversary
this May. They have two children: Samantha, who
is a stage actress in Ft. Worth, and Kendall, who

Liz King Becher '84 attended SMU's 100th
birthday celebration in the fall of 2015, where she
was delighted to meet the undergraduate Alpha
Xi sisters and tour the chapter house. Liz lives in
Casper, WY, where she is the assistant city manager

Lindsay Schorr Betz '97 shared that her heart has
been deeply touched by the countless and amazing
ways her Alpha Xi sisters loved and supported her
family during their son Tyler's cancer journey and
passing. "We have been through an incredibly hard
time yet are blessed and humbled by all the love and
support. It has been a beautiful picture of sisterhood!
