Carolyn Smith Lewis '71 shares that her pledge
class has recently begun to meet for lunch every
month, and they have loved getting to know each
other "in our mature years." She also completed
a three-year program in spiritual direction and
now works with faith and grief ministries in
the North Texas area. Carolyn and her husband,

Julie Sheppard Maxfield '76 has been married
to her first love, James, for 37 years. She has
four children, all graduates of Texas A&M, and
three grandchildren. Her three daughters are all
Kappas. Julie was a special education teacher
for 22 years and retired in May 2016, but she
still works part time. She loves to travel, be
with her grandchildren, and be with her family.

Suzanne Ameel Leggett '80 has three children,
Emily Frances (24), Ryan (22), and Annie Rose
(18). She lives in Austin, Texas, where she is the
development director at St. Theresa's Catholic

Sandra Williams Seibert '83 teaches at Durango
High School as a special education teacher, and
also designs and sells jewelry at a local gallery.
Additionally, she is working on a mechanical
design patent not related to her jewelry making.

Rebecca Hancock '85 lives in Norman, Okla.,
with her husband and 15-year-old son. She

Karen Bingham Nelson '87 enjoys living in
Flower Mound, Texas, with her husband of 25
years and her two children. Her daughter is a
junior in high school, and her son is a freshman at

Kelly Palmer McGinty '94 has been living in
the Rocky Mountains for 16 years. "Telluride
has been where I have met and married my
husband, fostered my career, and is now where
I am raising my young sons. I love it, and I love

Whitney Jackson Vanderslice '95 and her
husband, Phil, opened a recruiting company in
Houston in 2012, and have been named one of
the "Best Places to Work" in Houston and the
"Fastest Growing" company in Houston. They
have two children and a dog. She still makes time
to get together with her Delta Psi pledge sisters

Amy Sparks DeVries '00 became a fellow in the
American Academy of Optometry. She shares,
"This was quite a task, requiring extensive
written work and passing an oral examination.
It has been a humbling experience and I am

Molly Little Cox '02 started her own hand
lettering and calligraphy business, PoppyCox
Ink, in 2016. She teaches modern calligraphy
classes in Fort Worth, and does custom work

Brenda McManus Kissko '02 shares that
after nine years of working for the Midland
Convention and Visitors Bureau, during which
she served on two state tourism boards, she has
launched her freelance writing and marketing
career. She helps clients with writing, marketing,
and graphic design. Her clients range from
publishing companies to state associations and
media companies. She writes for TourTexas.com
and has several articles forthcoming in Texas
Co-op Power magazine. She is currently shopping

Avery Curtis Miller '11 married Johnson
Miller on January 14, moved to Austin, Texas,
and started her first job since graduating with
her master's in speech language pathology from
