Q: Why did you join Kappa Kappa Gamma? What made you stay a part of the sisterhood? Wanda: I joined Las Chaparritas, a women's social club established in 1926, which became Kappa Kappa Gamma in the spring of 1953, because my two friends, Corinne Payne Wright '54 and Gloria Holleyman Lewis '54, were going to join. LeAnn: I joined because I wanted the experience of being in the same organization as my mom and sister. A lot of my high school friends were going to join another group, and I wanted to branch out. Haley: I decided to join because I knew some of the girls in the chapter that were older than me and I knew how awesome they were. Everyone was so kind to me and I am so glad I joined! Amber: I'd known about Kappa all my life, so when I went to college and went through rush and it came down to another sorority or Kappa, the choice was easy. I wanted to have that special connection with the other women in my life who were Kappas too. Q: What does your family legacy with Delta Psi mean to you? Amber: I love having that bond with my mom, aunt, grandmother, and sister. My aunt, LeAnn, was the chapter advisor the entire time I was there. So, getting to see her every Monday night at chapter meetings was so special and a memory I truly cherish.
