seCOnd CenturY CAmpAIgn hIghlIghts T he Oregon Alpha Alumni Association and the Undergraduate Leadership have developed an aspirational plan to ensure the continued success of the SigEp experience on the Oregon State University campus. rough careful study, assessment and planning, it has been determined expansion of our scholarship opportunities, enhancement of our leadership programming, and evolution of the chapter house comprise a "three-pronged" strategic plan that will enable current and future brothers to grow intellectually and culturally—and to prepare them for entry into their post-OSU life experiences. To accomplish our goals, we, the Alumni, need to invest in Oregon Alpha to meet the needs of today's and tomorrow's students as Oregon Alpha met our needs in the past. LEADERSHIP AND CITIZENSHIP n Welcome to College – A program for new members to ensure their success on campus, emphasizing academic, social, and personal behavior. It is facilitated by faculty and staff and includes 20 hours of programming. Provide $6,000 for honorariums and materials. n What It Is to Be a Man – A quarterly conversation for all members to learn about what it means to be a man. It addresses the notion of the Greek standard, "Body Healthy, Sprit Healthy," or in Oregon Alpha terminology, "character and brains," and includes three sessions. Assume $5,000 for honorariums and travel. n Oregon Alpha and Community – A semiannual, campus-wide event sponsored by Oregon Alpha that encourages the spirit of Oregon State. Generally used in concert with a fundraising event to support the Corvallis community. Provide $5,000 for sponsorship and/or seed contribution. n Executive Board Leadership Program – Using OSU faculty, a program to support, encourage, and develop the executive officers of Oregon Alpha. Helps foster skills of collaboration, goal setting, team building. n Sigma Phi Epsilon Leadership Events – A vehicle to support undergraduate members' attendance at SigEp leadership events such as Ruck, Carlson Leadership Academies, Grand Chapter, and e Quest to Greece. e objective is to provide funds so that 25% of the chapter has such exposure annually. n Life aer College – Designed to support junior and senior members as they prepare for post-campus life; heavily focused on mentoring and career development. Funds to be used for materials and meeting facilities. Primarily driven by alumni, furthering the chapter's existing program. SCHOLARSHIP n Chapter Scholarship – Currently awarded annually to three to five members based on merit. Desire is to increase to eight to 10 members, providing $1,000 awards. Annual award is $20,000. n Dubach Undergraduate Scholarship – Awarded to three to five members per term (nine to 15 total recipients per year). Annual award is $10,000. n Dubach Graduate Scholarship – Awarded to Oregon Alpha brothers attending graduate school, based on need, academic performance, and historical contribution to the chapter. Annual award is $10,000. n Balanced Man Scholarship – As a method to introduce outstanding students to Greek life and Oregon Alpha, the chapter implements the BMS, visiting future Oregon Staters in their homes and providing recognition scholarships to special incoming students. Some will choose Oregon Alpha. Funded by Oregon Alpha Alumni Association. Annual award is $7,500.
