Always Alpha Phi 2 T he spring semester is off to an exciting and busy start for Omicron. Warmer weather, a fully transitioned new executive council and appointed officers, and spring new members are just a few things abuzz at 906 South Providence. Our executive board kicked off the semester by attending the Alpha Phi Leadership Conference in Dallas, where we networked with sisters from all over the southern quadrant. We were overjoyed to be recognized by the Alpha Phi Foundation with a philanthropy award for raising more than $42,000, making Omicron the second- highest donor in the southern quadrant this past year. We are so proud of our sisters for working together to fundraise and promote awareness for women's heart health and the Foundation's other vital programs. Our spring philanthropy events were a huge hit and we couldn't be more excited to support the Alpha Phi Foundation. We began our philanthropy campaign with Heart Health Week, a week filled with eating heart-healthy lunches at the house, getting our heart rates up at a chapter turbo kick class at the Mizzou Recreational Center, promoting awareness by handing out cute heart buttons in Speaker's Circle, and celebrating our efforts with a Galentine's Day sisterhood gathering. We are thrilled to continue this new tradition on campus every February. Our philanthropic efforts continued with the annual Red Dress Gala and Poker Tournament in mid- March. Thank you to the parents and alumnae who joined us in Columbia to support the Alpha Phi Foundation and fight for women's heart health. Donations from the weekend totaled $35,608! Alpha Phi participated in Rockin' Against Multiple Sclerosis (RAMS) in February. RAMS is a student-run organization that Greek life supports to provide funding for the MS Institute of Mid- Missouri. We joined its efforts by collecting money, attending speaker nights to become more informed on multiple sclerosis, and participating in the RAMS dance competition. Alpha Phi's theme was School of Rock! Our rockstars put in countless hours to prepare their routine, and they came home with the gold! Check out their performance on social media. We held our spring Bid Day, which took place on Omicron's 107th birthday. We simultaneously celebrated the addition of our 15 spring new members and the history of our home. Our spring Bid Day theme was Life Is Better Wearing Our Letters, and it turned out to be a huge success. It was wonderful to welcome these new members into our chapter. Overall, we have big plans for the final month of school and are very excited to see them play out. As always, we appreciate your continued love and support of Omicron!
