TigerHeart SigEp There is a new SigEp in Columbia committed to SigEp Excellence. Sigma Phi Epsilon Missouri Alpha P.O. Box 50152 Clayton, MO 63105 Address Service Requested l @mizzousigep www.sigepmizzou.com Missouri Alpha Welcomes New House Director Georgia Mosley T he new year also started with a new face at Missouri Alpha, new house director Georgia Mosley. She started working as a house director 12 years ago after she had retired and was looking for a position with a flexible schedule and somewhere she could use her people skills. There's a common perception that being a house director just involves sitting around and watching television, but that's not true. There is a lot of guidance, organization, and patience required. There is also a lot of noise. Georgia has two daughters and four grandchildren (ages 2 to 24), which has given her the needed experience to deal with young people, but have patience doing it. "I've found that 'What were you all thinking?' is a good way to begin a conversation," she said. While she has been at the chapter house for only a few months, the young men of Missouri Alpha have already made her feel at home. "We are both making a transition together, and they have been very respectful and helpful to me so far," she shared. She has previously worked for groups that do not emphasize respect among the undergraduates, and it can make doing her job very challenging. Georgia enjoys being around the idealism of the undergraduates. "They are young enough to want to try something new, and they can be very innovative and creative. They just bring an energy and enthusiasm to everything they do," she said. She's thankful for the support of the alumni, especially the members of the House Corporation. "Without their support and involvement, there wouldn't be a chapter house, and my job would be a lot harder. I've seen the difference it can make to the undergraduates to have an active, involved alumni group," said Georgia. You can reach out to Georgia at housemom2theguys@gmail.com.
