Bend students Read Across America Bend Elementary School partici- pated in the National Education's Association 11th annual observance of Read Across America with events happening every day during the week. The Cat in the Hat read to the stu- dents as one of the special events of the week. Other events celebrated throughout the week were readers in the class- rooms, student readers, art and read- ing lessons tied to Dr. Seuss, a book giveaway, and a school-wide Green Eggs and Ham breakfast sponsored by the Bend Booster Club.
