Box 2164 West Lafayette, IN 47996 Address Service Requested Theta Kite Educational Foundation Increases Focus on Scholarships O ur Educational Foundation has just completed the initial phase of its development during which it was able to help the Facility Corporation Board complete the capital campaign. Our attention is now focused on moving ahead with our long-term objective — providing scholarships to support our undergraduate sisters, as well as supporting improvements to educational space in the chapter house. At initiation, we all have shared vows to support our sisters—not just for our college years, but for ANNUAL MEETING AND HOMECOMING Saturday, September 23 9:30-10:30 a.m. Annual Meeting 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Open house (times may change when the football game time is announced) L inda Markins Sorensen '60, president of the Alpha Chi Chapter Educational Foundation and Beverly Beck McCollough '55, president of the Greater Lafayette Alumnae Chapter, presented six $750 scholarships on Saturday, April 8, at Alpha Chi's Mother's Day Weekend. (1) Colleen Leonard '16, in memory of Mary Kay Williams Chandler '64 by the class of '64; Katie Krempp '14, in memory of Katherine Dittrich Wood McMillin '48; Tara Seibert '15, in memory of Juliet Matthews Snyder, 1917, Caroline Snyder McConnell '41, and Martha Snyder Fawcett '43 by Ann Fawcett Murphy '72; Annabelle Russell '15, in memory of Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Frazee '39 by Ann Fawcett Murphy '72 and Peggy Fawcett Edwards '69. (2) Lindsey Daoust '15, in honor of Susan Dalenberg Kessler '60. (3) Rachel Hoagburg '14, in honor of Alpha Chi Chapter's service to the Educational Foundation. a "lifetime." Through our Foundation we now have the opportunity to reach out regularly to support those sisters who are following us. Even in its infancy, the Foundation has provided eleven $500 scholarships in its first two years and six $750 scholarships this year. The Foundation also has established an endowment fund. Through the endowment fund we will be able to insure that this process will continue and awards grow.
