We initiated 11 new members in February, had a spring recruitment class of four, and received a 3.14 GPA. And we did all of this while taking on the challenges of living inside of a construction zone. Planning Ahead As always, academics are the number one priority for our Chapter. Thanks to the efforts of former High Sigma Brendan Cunningham '15, our Chapter received a 3.14 GPA last semester. This places us fifth among all fraternities, well above the all-male and all-Greek averages of 2.995 and 3.105 respectively. Our current High Sigma, Eric Willard '16, has put together an academic plan to further increase our GPA this semester. Spring Watermelon Bash On April 19, our Chapter hosted its second annual Watermelon Bash. Watermelon Bash is a spring philanthropy event started by me, the previous High Theta, which raises money for Feeding America. This year it was located on campus in the Havener Lawn to promote campus-wide participation as well as avoid any injuries related to construction. High Theta Alex Ruhmann '14 has been hard at work to incorporate additional organizations into our philanthropy program, starting with a joint service event with Lambda Sigma Pi. Growing Alpha-Delta Zeta Thanks to the efforts of our previous High Delta, Nathan Vitek '15, we received four new associate members this spring. This doubled the size of last year's spring recruitment class. Our current High Delta, Kyle Barton '16, is preparing for summer/fall recruitment and has plans to incorporate the Chapter in the recruitment process. This summer, as always, we will be holding recruitment and inviting potential new members to come and see what makes Lambda Chi the best. Austin Robertson '17, one of our newly initiated brothers, has been deployed through the National Guard. He will be returning to Rolla in two years' time, but until then we wish Brother Robertson the best of luck.
