Building Our Future Investing in Our Future W e urge your thoughtful consideration of this project. You are the only one who can place a value on your Sigma Omicron membership—on the lifelong friendships you made, on the values and principles that were instilled in you, and on the many ways Kappa Delta enhanced your college years. Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership is committed to this major undertaking, which will allow us to renovate and expand our chapter home. Our investment in the future of Sigma Omicron's facility will ensure the success of our chapter and will promote a legacy upon which to build an even greater sisterhood. We recognize that each of us benefited from the generosity, work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the sisterhood KD provided during our years at U of I. Now it is our turn to stretch our giving and support the financial challenge associated with this project. We urge your thoughtful consideration of this plan. We must move forward now, or risk falling behind others. With your support, Sigma Omicron will continue to provide a quality living environment that supports, nurtures, and develops outstanding young women with the skills and confidence to face an ever-changing world. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated—it will have a far-reaching effect on the lives of our Sigma Omicron sisters for years to come. DOnOr recOgnitiOn Each of us, simply by our presence, has contributed to the history of Kappa Delta. How appropriate then that each of our names be entered into its halls. Room naming opportunities may be available for donors who contribute $10,000 or more. Additionally, each donor who contributes $2,500 or more will be recognized on a prominently displayed plaque in the chapter house, and donors who contribute $500 or more will be recognized in campaign publications, unless otherwise requested. gift StrUctUre Because of the magnitude of our objectives, we urge all alumnae to consider major gifts to the campaign. In order for each alumna to maximize her participation, gifts can be structured over a five-year pledge period. However, early gifts to the campaign are preferable to help reduce borrowing costs. Gifts in honor or in memory of other Kappa Deltas, as well as family gifts, are welcome. Recognition in such cases will be given to both the donor and the honoree. paY it fOrWarD Your investment in Sigma Omicron will directly impact the lives of our current and future members. Today, perhaps more than ever, it is important that we provide young college women with an environment that offers a solid foundation for their education and affords them opportunities for high academic achievement and the development of leadership and social skills. taX-DeDUctiBle giftS All gifts to this campaign are 100% tax deductible through the Kappa Delta Foundation. The Internal Revenue Service will allow exclusively educational space in the home to be funded with tax- deductible dollars that are gifted to the Kappa Delta Foundation and designated for the Sigma Omicron Educational and Technology Fund.
