5 BETA THETA PI AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY B eta Mu is a driving force on Purdue's campus. In every event or activity, we are innovating the way the Greek system is perceived and conducts itself. We are extremely proud of our connection with the university officials. We have consistently held a transparent and cooperative relationship with all of the organizations on campus. Academic Success Purdue remains an academically challenging environment and we strive every day to uphold our values and the cultivation of our intellect. Since our return to campus, we have remained in the top five of the academic ranking of the 40- plus fraternities on campus. Our new member education has a strong academic expectation and we are giving our brothers the best opportunities to perform well in the classroom. Philanthropic Pursuits As we work to establish an impressive philanthropic record, we are also leaving a mark on the larger campus community. Just this semester, we have completed two philanthropic events already. Our first was a car smash. We teamed up with Purdue Athletics and hosted the event outside of a basketball game. The athletics department promoted our event with our name on it to every Boilermaker on campus. We raised roughly $2,000. Those funds were donated to the Purdue Center for Cancer Research. Our second event supported the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We hosted a tricycle race around the parking lot and raised $400. Recruiting Top Men We have created a new design for our member education and we are only recruiting one pledge class per year. Recruitment will be held in the fall with the goal of recruiting 35 new members each semester. This will provide an organized routine that will provide sustainability for the house in the future. Strong in Intramurals We are competing in every sport possible with excellence and our eyes on the championship. Our basketball, soccer, and ultimate frisbee teams are looking especially strong this semester.
