April 5, 2017 www.DesertMessenger.com 15 Greetings to all, we would like to thank all of our Winter Visitors for continuing to come back to La Paz County each year. Just a quick reminder about RV's (Recreational Travel Trailers.) They are structures mounted on wheels, designed to provide tem- porary living quarters for recre- ational, camping or travel use. This category includes fi fth-wheel trail- ers. Most travel trailers are licensed and taxed in the same manner as motor vehicles. As per A.R.S.42- 19153, "A person who, regardless of domicile, remains in this state for a consecutive period of six months or more" units will then be assessed as personal property and be placed on the personal property tax roll. These units would be identifi ed as unlicensed, having an expired Ari- zona licensed plate or licensed in another state. Most of the units are found in RV/Mobile home parks. RV/Mobile Home Park owners/ operators are to maintain regis- ters (park reports) of all mobile home activity in their parks. These registers list changes in occupancy, and identify units that are in their parks. There are a total of 143 RV/ Mobile home parks throughout La Paz County on record at this time. To stay in compliance with the Department of Revenue, Operators are required to provide a copy of the information in the register for each month to the County Asses- sor of the county in which the unit is located, not later than the tenth day following the month covered by the report. An operator who fails to maintain the register to make the report required is guilty of a class 2 misdemeanor. (A.R.S. 42-19154). If you are an owner/operator of an RV/Mobile Park here in La Paz County, and you have any questions regarding the Monthly RV/Mobile Home Report, please contact our offi ce we will be happy to assist you. We are here to help you stay in compliance with the Assessor's Department as well as Department of Revenue. As always, if you have any ques- tions please don't hesitate to con- tact our offi ce at your convenience; we are here for you, the taxpayer.
