A PublicAtion of betA SigmA PSi At Purdue univerSity SPring 2017 B eta Sigma Psi has been busy the past few months living out our three S'. After the large success and turnout of the church Christmas party held at the Chapter House, we are looking to host a similar Easter-themed event. We continue to be involved as University Lutheran prepares for the transition to its new location to the Exponent building on Northwestern Avenue, with three of our members serving on the Church Council. We are excelling academically by utilizing and improving our scholarship accountability program, which has made us highly competitive among other fraternities. Socially, we have been increasing our involvement on campus through intramural sports and philanthropies, and are planning a largely anticipated event with Alpha Xi Delta. We're very eager for the rest of the semester. Academic Excellence Beta Chapter achieved a GPA of 3.18 in the fall, which ranked us fourth among all fraternities. This was an improvement of .23 from the previous semester. This great improvement was largely due to the program that Lars Henderson '15 put in place. Our new members show excellent scholastic achievement by obtaining a semester GPA of 3.53, which ranked second out of all fraternity new member classes. Campus Connections Through great planning and collaboration we are excited to start a new philanthropic event this semester. We will be co-sponsoring a basketball tournament with Alpha Xi Delta in April. All proceeds will go toward Autism Speaks.
