Los Molinos 0 Williams By ANDRE BYIK DN Sports Editor WILLIAMS — The Los Molinos varsity football team was back on the field Friday night, a year after its season was shut down after one game because of a lack of players. Their opponent was a familiar foe, the Williams Yellowjackets, who beat the Bulldogs 48-0 Fri- day, and 24-0 in the Bulldogs' opener last season. This time it appears Los Moli- nos will survive to play another week as two rostered varsity players become eligible to play Biggs High School Friday at home after participating in the required amount of practices. 48 But now, the bad. Defensively, he said, players were in positions to make stops but didn't wrap up runners and complete tackles. And the Bulldogs, while penalized six times for false starts, weren't holding. But perhaps the biggest take- Los Molinos head coach Todd Hamer warned that the Yellow- jackets had speed, and senior running back Tony Boites eluded the Bulldogs on the night. But Hamer, his first year coaching the varsity squad, tem- pered expectations for the non- away came late in the second quarter, when the Bulldogs were trailing 26-0 and sophomore cen- ter CJ Quilling went to the ground for an extended period with what appeared to be a hurt leg. Quilling would be OK, Haley stood, broke through the silence and asserted his leadership. They think we can't play foot- ball, Haley shouted at his team, pointing to the traveling faithful of friends and family just yards away, They think we can't play foot- ball, Haley repeated, motioning to Williams' bench and the well- attended home crowd across the field, adding, We're from Los Molinos, and we're proud of it.
