Delta Delta Delta 3 women at Theta Iota are passionate about it," Susan said. "In fact, this year, Tri Delta won first place among K-State sororities in philanthropic fundraising, raising more than $35,000 for St. Jude! This was more than double the amount raised by any other sorority at Kansas State." SOCIAL MEDIA: A USEFUL DIFFERENCE Susan notes the prevalence of social media as a striking difference between today's world from even just 10 years ago. Everything is documented online. "For those who are savvy," she said, "Tri Delta at K-State has excellent Twitter (@KSUTriDelta) and Instagram (trideltaksu) accounts. To follow the chapter's philanthropic and social events and to see some great photos of their sisterhood, all are invited to check out these sites." Susan and her husband, Tad, live in Manhattan, Kansas. They have three sons, Noah, a junior at K-State, Nathan, a sophomore at K-State, and Ian, a senior at Manhattan High School. Our main focuses will be organizing the spring philanthropic event, Drive Thru for St. Jude on April 6, and strengthening our relationships within the K-State Greek community. Our young women are working hard in school and within Tri Delta! Our annual Senior Suitcase date party was on February 17. During this event, the senior pledge class decides on the theme. We also participated in K-State's Greek Week, which took place the week of February 19. Between March 4 and 5, the chapter celebrated Mom's Weekend with many fun activities organized by our great member development chairman. April 24 will begin our Senior Week where we celebrate all of the great women graduating and leaving our chapter. Fall 2016 recruitment brought in a great group of 50 women who we welcomed into the sisterhood on October 6. The freshmen new member class has great potential, and a handful of members represent their class as officers. From the fall semester, our members also made us proud by earning a chapter GPA of 3.28. With many of our members spending late nights at the library or huddled in the study room at the Chapter House, we were happy to see their hard work pay off. Twenty-seven members received 4.0 GPAs, an impressive feat. They, along with the members who received a 3.5 and higher, will be recognized at our scholarship dinner. Our amazing Vice President of Public Relations Rylan McClurg '16 has worked diligently on our website, adding in all of the new officers and putting more recent pictures online. Check out all of her hard work at kstate.tridelta.org!
