Website Visit www.kufiji.org for all things KU FIJI! S teve visited the Chapter House on February 16 and had very positive things to say about the house and the men who occupy it. "I was in Lawrence today with a pledge brother, John Martin '59, who is an artist. Among his many paintings are included pictures of the old house and the one before it, along with a portrait of Dean Smith '53 and the first pledge, Billy Morgan 1885. When we came in the house we were met by at least seven Phi Gams, presumably freshmen, as well as the rush chairman. They all introduced themselves, looked us in the eye and welcomed us to the house and exuded hospitality. The first floor was neat and tidy and clean. We didn't go upstairs as we had an appointment elsewhere. I asked the rush chairman about scholarship and he said it was in the range of 3.15, ranking sixth among fraternities. He said they had 80 actives and pledges living in the house and 20+ living outside. My impression was very favorable, the best made on me in the 30 years I have been going over there since we returned to Kansas City. It really looks like they are on the right track."
