Thank you. in Portland and began his 36-year career with Standard Insurance in 1963, retiring as a vice president. A stalwart Oregon State Beavers fan, Jim served as president of the Portland Beaver Booster Huddle in the early '70s. He took great pleasure in Standard retiree lunches, golfing with friends, and visiting over a cup of coffee with his gym buddies. He maintained a lively interest in the activities and concerns of his four children, nine grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren. Jim is survived by sons, Jim and Sam; daughters, Linda and Patty; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. ALUMNI NEWS Robert C. Ewing '43 is one of "Dean Dubach's boys." Two years ago he was honored with Fellow status by the American Society of Civil Engineers and an engineering scholarship is in his name at Lipscomb University. Holm '48 lives in a senior center in Eugene, Ore., where he plays a lot of bridge. He will turn 90 years old in 2017. E-mail: holm4124@comcast.net John C. Fox '49 and wife, Kathryn, have two great-grandsons. John retired from the City of Richland, Wash., in 2013 after 11 years on the city council, including six years as mayor. He is still active in the local community through his service on the new Manhattan Project National Historical Park at the Hanford Nuclear Reservation. E-mail: jfoxishere@charter.net Elvan M. Pitney '50 and his wife, Barbara, are both in reasonably good health at 92 and 91 years-young. They wear their black and orange and root for the Beavers every chance they get. They have been married 69 years and have four children: Daniel, David, Kathleen, and LuAnn. They reside on two acres in Sherwood, Ore., where they built their home 50 years ago. Donald C. Bails '54 spent 60 years as a golf professional, primarily in the western United States. He now lives in Seattle, Wash., with his son. Dana K. Murton '56 stays active as chairman of the house and grounds committee at his local Christian Science church in Laguna Niguel, Calif. Klick '62 lives in Beaverton, Ore., and is looking forward to Oregon Alpha's 100th anniversary banquet on May 19, 2018. Alexander '68 retired in 2014 after 39 years as an attorney in private practice in Albany, Ore., and 45 years as a licensed pharmacist. Hall '73 attended his first Homecoming celebration at ORSU since graduating and had a great time. He stopped by the chapter house and talked with a few members, but was unable to attend the alumni meeting and barbecue due to other commitments. He and his wife, Patty, just returned from a month in the U.K., where they did a Rotary Friendship Exchange in Wales, and then toured Scotland. He and his wife, Linda, built their 10th home in Brasada Ranch near Powell Butte, Ore. Jeremy enjoyed 33 years of teaching business classes and coaching football and golf.
