3 CORNELL UNIVERSITY Undergraduates Make Tremendous Strides on Campus and in the Community I am so proud of the great progress Alpha Phi has made this past year. Seeing how committed our members are day in and day out, both within our house and on campus, is so incredible. SISTERS SET THE BAR HIGH IN PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS AND SERVICE In the past year, we've worked to raise $20,000. This started at the end of last spring with our annual Krista Depew's Memorial Softball Tournament. We had 16 teams compete for the championship title and come together to raise $3,000 for the National Meningitis Foundation in honor of our late sister. Last fall, we had our inaugural Heart Health Week. We hold the mission of the Alpha Phi Foundation near and dear to our hearts, and we used this week to showcase that passion and help to instill it in hearts all around campus. The week included a yoga class to get hearts pumping, a Yogurtland fundraiser to promote healthy treats, a bowling tournament, and tabling around campus to educate Cornell about the cause. We also held our annual Ivy Man competition, where 15 of Cornell's most eligible bachelors compete for the title of Alpha Phi's Ivy Man. Outside of contributing to the Alpha Phi Foundation, our sisters also volunteer weekly at Loaves and Fishes, a soup kitchen, to give back to the Ithaca community that supports us! Aside from our philanthropic pursuits, our chapter has enjoyed a huge variety of fun activities, including sisterhood events, date parties, and formal events. A few of our favorites included snow tubing at Greek Peak, sisterhood brunch at Banfi's, resume critiques and headshots, and trips to the farmer's market! DELTA WELCOMES 48 FUTURE LEADERS In January, we welcomed 48 incredible new members after a very successful recruitment! Our new sisters from across the country are undergraduate researchers, varsity athletes, and incredibly involved around campus. We cannot wait to have them carry on our legacy, and see all of the incredible things they'll do on campus and for Alpha Phi! VISIT 411 THURSTON AVENUE AND RECONNECT Alpha Phi has transformed my college experience, and I know looking back that these college years will be seen as some of the best of my life. By giving me a small slice of familiarity on the huge campus that is Cornell, I have found the support system I needed to reach my fullest potential. I have forged countless friendships that are sure to last a lifetime, and have created endless memories at 411 Thurston Avenue to treasure. It is my hope that every sister who joins our chapter shares these fond feelings. If any alumnae are ever in the area, we encourage you to stop by and connect with all of us. We enjoy hearing stories from the past and sharing our vision for the future. aoe, Val Katz '18 Chapter President vk259@cornell.edu Sisters had a blast at our masquerade formal! Members showcase their red feather boas during Women's Heart Health Week. Delta Chapter took to the slopes for a fun-filled snow tubing event! Delta's new member class on Bid Day. We are excited to see what these women accomplish in the years to come!
