5 Alumnae Update CHAPTER ETERNAL Anne Griffin Wright '44 entered Chapter Eternal in September 2016 at age 91. Once honored as "First Lady of Mobile" because of her many tireless years of volunteerism, Anne gave her time and energy to others for many years. She loved to tell the story of meeting her future husband, Denny, on a blind date in the Chapter House. Anne will always be remembered as a very charming, warm, thoughtful, well-respected, and fun-loving Southern lady who cultivated friends of all ages and from all walks of life. She was friendly to everyone and had the gift of an unselfish and sincere interest in others. She was beautiful inside and out, and her bright and engaging smile would light up a room. Her greatest legacy will be her love and devotion for her husband and four daughters, and her tireless efforts for always improving Mobile's aesthetic beauty. Shirley Smith Cull '51 entered Chapter Eternal on November 24, 2015, at her home in Colorado Springs. She is survived by her four children, their spouses, six grandchildren, and her brother, Russell. ALUMNAE NEWS 1940s Julie Gaillard Suk '43 is a self-titled poet in progress and author of six poetry books. She lives in Charlotte, N.C. E-mail: ckmprice@comcast.net Martha Noojin Ramsay '68 loves keeping up with her 14 grandchildren all across North America, with four in Canada, three in Birmingham, four in Mississippi, and three in Georgia; she enjoys traveling to see them all. She is active in her local KD alumnae group, is on the Connie Hudson Senior Center Board, and is chairman of Ladd-Peebles Stadium Board. Ann stays busy by spending time with her grandchildren in South Carolina. She and her husband, Sam, live in Mobile, Ala. Martha Jones Tyson '73 has worked for the state of Alabama for 22 years as a redistricting tech. Martha lives in the house where she grew up in Montgomery, Ala., and has five grandchildren. Through her boutique, she meets many women all over Alabama and helps them get ready for recruitment each summer. Pat also enjoys having many employees at the store who end up pledging KD. 1980s Irene Thames Gardner '81 enjoys hanging out with her KD sisters at their spring beach weekend.
