T he past few months at Alpha Delta have been very busy. From recruiting a brand new pledge class to hosting our first Moonball event, this chapter has been hard at work making sure Alpha Delta succeeds above and beyond. Even through the hard days, I couldn't be prouder to be a part of this chapter. I am continuously surrounded by encouragement, love, and support. After experiencing how much my sisters and I accomplished in the past few months, I cannot wait to embark on yet another fun-filled semester. cHapteR impLements new eDucation pRogRam I am so excited to announce that we moved up eight spots in grades this year. Placing above the university, all-Greek, all-female, and all- freshman female grades, our cumulative GPA raised to a 3.323. We are so proud of our sisters for pushing themselves academically. With that said, we are implementing a new education program in hopes that we will continue to raise our GPA even higher. This new mentoring program is built on the foundation of sisters helping sisters. Two members with the same major will be paired together. Because we are matching based on major, the women are able to help each other with homework, tests, and classes. This is to ensure that no member feels alone in the struggle of college. We hope for this mentoring program to go into effect this semester, and we cannot wait to see the positive impacts it will have on the members and the chapter as a whole. inauguRaL moonbaLL event This past October we held our first Moonball event, and we had multiple fraternities sign up for this kickball tournament. After having a successful Moonball event, we are so excited to host our next event "Grilled Cheese with the G Phi Bs" this April. All of these funds are donated to the Girls on the Run. We strive to build strong girls, not only within our chapter, but everywhere. By raising money and promoting positive attitudes, we are able to make a difference. 288 membeRs Last August, we had an amazing recruitment, receiving a new pledge class and growing our sisterhood. Adding to the new pledge class this semester, we informally recruited three more women, making a total of 288 women in this chapter. We are so excited to welcome our new members, in addition to welcoming our new membership vice president, Addison Jaudes '15. She organized our COB event and we are so excited for August to recruit more incredible women. Gamma Phi Beta 3 The sophomore pledge class on its first day of living in the house back in August. The women were so excited to live with 80 of our sisters! Alpha Delta Looks Back at a Great Year Gamma Phi Beta Excels in Academics, Leadership At the beginning of October, we held our first Moonball event. The men of Theta Chi fraternity were our first winners! Katie Jones '14, Nicole Schaefer '14, Mckenna Mapes '14, and Marisa Gannon '14 loved getting to share their passion for Girls on the Run with the potential new members on philanthropy day of recruitment.
