SPRING 2017
FOCUSING ON THE FUTURE
New Housing Opportunity Will Unify Phi Mu Classes
A
s winter concludes and
spring beckons, Phi Mu
Alpha Delta House Corporation
looks toward the future with high
hopes and dreams. We gathered
in February to hear reports
from the Chapter leadership
and Housemother Vicki Taylor,
and we examined our financial
information. We will always do
our best for not only our current
members but also for those of
you who still feel the bond of
Phi Mu.
Since sophomore housing is a thing of the past at the
University of Mississippi, all sororities on campus
struggle finding ways to unify members transitioning
from being freshmen to sophomores. However, many
great housing facilities have popped up in Oxford over
the past seven years, and it is not surprising to find Phi
Mus dispersed throughout most of them.
The House Corporation is pleased to announce a
Phi Mu exclusive condominium called Taylor Road
Cottages. We have partnered with the owner of this
facility, and he has agreed to let us have an initial
five years of exclusivity for our members. This is an
exciting opportunity for our freshmen class because
they can now transition together
in this place on Old Taylor Road.
We are confident we will fill this
108-bed complex with incoming
sophomores and even a few
juniors and seniors. We have no
ownership of this facility, but
we will act as a facilitator. Most
sororities offer housing in one
specific place, while we are able
to offer a brand-new facility to
our members.
Your House Corporation looks
forward to the new collegiate
leadership, continued support from our cherished
alumnae, and a wonderful staff on whom we can
depend. We are blessed with good fortune so far in
2017, and our future looks bright. You, the Phi Mu
alumnae, play a huge role in the future of our sorority,
and we would like to hear from you. Please contact us
if you are planning a reunion or just want to drop in
for a meal. We look forward to focusing on the future
with you.
Love in Our Bond,
