The following informa- tion is compiled from Red Bluff Police Department, Red Bluff Fire, Tehama County Sheriff's Depart- ment, Corning Police De- partment, Corning Fire, Cal Fire and California Highway Patrol logs. Wanted RedBluff:TheRedding Parole Office issued a be- on-the-lookout for Michael Ryan Palmgren, 34, who was no longer charging his ankle GPS unit and parole wished him arrested if contacted. Palmgren's original charge was not violent. If Palmgren is seen, the public is asked to call 527-3131. South Avenue: A be-on-the- lookout for was issued for a hit and run suspect vehicle described as a small black truck with front end damage. The driver, who reportedly rear ended the other vehicle about 2:45p.m. before tak- ing off, was wearing a black sweatshirt. Suspicious Columbia Avenue: A Corning resident reported an at- tempted the of an ATV at his residence Monday morn- ing, but his dog chased the person away while they were trying to roll the quad down the driveway. West Street: A Rabobank employee reported a disgrun- tled person le the Red Bluff branch upset about a stopped check. He said he would be en route to a woman's house with a .45. Both parties were contacted and the man stated there had been a mis- communication. South Main Street: Police were requested about 4:30 p.m. Monday to the area of Jack In The Box for a report of a man pushing a cart who was asking people for money and a woman in the parking lot who was repeatedly pull- ing her pants down. Kendig Lane: A Cotton- wood man found his shop ransacked and several items bagged up as if someone was going to take them. The s Marguerite Avenue: A Corning resident reported the the of a chainsaw and ATV belonging to her employer, Si- erra Pacific, that were taken from the back of her pickup. Rogers Court: A Gerber resident reported several pieces of jewelry were taken from her residence sometime Monday. Stoll Road: A television was stolen Sunday evening from a storage unit at Baker Road Mini Storage and Rent. Luther Road: A suspected thief was last seen headed west toward Luther riding a bicycle about 8:15p.m. Monday. He was wearing a black and white plaid shirt and brown shorts. Threats Alameda Road: A man re- ported someone was follow- ing him and making threats. The suspect reportedly rode away on a bicycle headed south on Alameda. Vandalism Walnut Street: A lamp post in a Corning man's front yard was damaged sometime 8-8:30p.m. Monday. Kindlespire Road: A Pro- berta resident reported two tires were slashed on her vehicle sometime between Friday and Sunday. Policelogs Couldn't find a recipe for hot pot, but here is Santa Maria-style grilled tri-tip from The Sunset Essential Western Cookbook. The meat is either a thick cut of boned top sirloin or a tri-tip,usuallyseasonedwith nothing more than salt, gar- licsalt,andblackpepperand grilled over local red oak on a massive black grate. The red oak chips gives the meat a wonderful, rus- tic flavor. 1 beef tri-tip, 2 to 2 pounds, preferably with some fat on one side 2 tablespoons garlic pow- der 1 tablespoons kosher salt 1 teaspoon pepper 2 teaspoons dried parsley 2 cups red oak chips, soaked in water for at least 20 minutes 1. Mix garlic powder, salt, pepper and parsley together inasmallbowl;ruboverand into meat. Let stand 30 min- utes at room temperature. 2. Meanwhile, prepare a grill for medium-high heat, using charcoal or gas grill, andaddchipstothegrill.Set beef tri-tip over direct heat, with the fat side up, and sear until nicely browned — close lid on gas grill — 3 to 5 min- utes; turn meat over and sear other side. 3. Move tri-tip from direct heat and grill, turning every 10 minutes or so, until an in- stant-read thermometer in- serted into thickest part reg- isters 125 to 130 degrees, 25 to 35 minutes. 4. Transfer tri-tip to a cutting board and let rest at least 15 minutes. Slice meat across the grain as thin or as thick as you like. 5. Besides beef, the menu included salsa, garlic french breadandtinylocalpinquito beans. Serves 8, 45 minutes, plus at least 15 minutes to stand. CATTLEWOMEN'S CORNER Sacred Heart School is scheduled to host its Friday night fish fry din- ners every Friday from March 3 through April 7 at the parish hall, 2355 Monroe St. in Red Bluff. The dinners are served 5:30-7:30 p.m. and avail- able for dine in or carry out. The menu includes fish dinners, fish ta- cos, clam chowder and grilled cheese. The total use of reference books reached 165. The Molino Star Chapter #83, Order of the Eastern Star is sponsoring its third pancake breakfast to bene- fit the Los Molinos Library. The fundraiser will be held 8-11 a.m. Saturday, March 11 at the Masonic Family Center, 25020 Te- hama-Vina Road. The Mo- lino Lodge #150 members will be assisting at the event. All proceeds will go to the Friends of the Los Mo- linos Library, a nonprofit, to support the Children's SummerReadingprogram; to provide new books and materials; and to promote the various services avail- able to the public.
