QPD Arrest /Activity Report Provided by Quartzsite Police Department JANUARY 11 - JANUARY 25, 2017 During this reporting period the Quartzsite Police responded to 296 calls for service with QPD Offi cers completing forty (40) de- partmental reports including four (4) thefts of Honda generators, twenty-fi ve (25) criminal and/or civil citations, and sixty-six (66) written warnings for parking viola- tions on Central Boulevard and Kuehn Street. 01/11 Raul Avila-Vega Jr. (22) of Lake Havasu City was stopped by police for speeding and it was discovered that he was operating a motor vehicle without ever having a driver's license. Avila was cited and his vehicle was towed to impound with a mandatory 30-day hold. 01/11 Wesley Nacrur (23) a vagrant from Prescott, AZ returned to a local campground after being given several trespass warnings by the lawful representative of the campground. Police located Nacrur and promptly booked him into the La Paz County Detention Center for Trespassing. 01/12 Dennis Cushman (64) of Quartzsite, AZ pushed a 16-year-old co-worker during an argument at their place of employment. Cushman was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Assault. 01/12 David Workman (66) of Quartzsite, AZ struck his estranged wife during an altercation at his residence. Workman was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Assault per Domestic Violence. 01/12 Travis Baldwin of Quartzsite, AZ was involved in a custody dispute when the police were called and discovered he was wanted for two outstanding misde- meanor Arrest Warrants issued by the Quartzsite Magistrate Court for Failure to Pay on original charges of Contempt of Court and Attempt- ed Possession of Drug Parapherna- lia. Baldwin was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for the warrants. 01/14 John Wallace (50) of Yucca Valley, CA caught the at- tention of police by driving a Ford SUV with a license plate belonging to Volkswagen van. Wallace was cited and released for Knowingly Displaying a Fictitious Plate. 01/15 Sulee Steward of Watson- ville, CA was stopped by police for improper lane usage and found to be driving on a suspended driver's license. Steward was cited for the Suspended License Violation and her vehicle was towed to impound with a mandatory 30-day hold. 01/17 Thaddeus Dormaier (53) of Quartzsite, AZ threatened his boss via text messages then began pound- ing on the door of his boss's resi- dence threatening to "kick his (exple- tive)". Dormaier was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Threats and Disorderly Conduct. 01/15 Justin Burkeen (37) of Arcate, CA struck an adult male victim in the head with a guitar causing injury during an argument and fl ed the scene. Police tracked down Burkeen and booked him into the La Paz County Detention Center for Aggravated Assault. 01/19 Vianca Maldonado (25) of Quartzsite, AZ was cited and released for Driving While Suspended and her vehicle was towed to impound with a mandatory 30-day hold. 01/22 Thomas Ludlow (51) of Salt Lake City, UT was driving a stolen vehicle on a revoked driver's license while extremely intoxicated. Ludlow was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Aggravated DUI and Vehicle Theft; and the vehicle was returned to its lawful owner. 01/23 James Adams (25) a va- grant from California smashed the front window of a local business after hours and was in the process of burglarizing the establishment when a local Quartzsite Good Samaritan interrupted the crime. Adams fl ed the scene and was later captured by police. Adams was booked into the La Paz County De- tention Center for Burglary. 01/24 Kael Hooten (33) of Ann Arbor, MI was stopped by the QPD K-9 Unit for several equipment vio- lations, showed obvious symptoms of illicit drug use and admitted to having illicit drug paraphernalia inside his vehicle. Hooten was ar- rested and police recovered over one pound of cannabis wax (solid hash oil) inside his vehicle. Hooten was booked into the La Paz County Detention Center for Transporta- tion of Narcotics For Sale, Pos- session of Narcotics For Sale and Possession of Narcotics. 01/24 Mariah Harich (29) of Quartzsite, AZ got into an alterca- tion with her ex-boyfriend's new girlfriend at his residence, which led to Harich being cited and re- leased for Trespass and Disorderly Conduct.
