Early Bird sign up for the 5th annual Business Expo ends Wednesday, Feb 1. The Red Bluff Business Expo and Mixer, or BEAM, is set for 5-7 p.m. Thurs- day, Feb. 9 at the Red Bluff Community Center 1500 S. Jackson St. We are already two- thirds full of vendor reg- istrations. This trade show is an excellent opportunity for all local businesses to showcase what they have to offer to the Red Bluff and Tehama County com- munity. Show specials and discounts will be given during the Business Expo. This event will fea- ture more than 60 ven- dors form all categories of business, organiza- tions and events. Sign up today. The event is open to the public with no admission fee. Appetizers and a no host bar will be available for all from the Palomino Room. The vendors are encour- aged to register early as it is first come first serve. The registrants will bring props, tell their story and will make it fun. Sweetheart Ball The American Legion Raisner Post 45 will be holding the 4th annual Sweetheart Ball at 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Corning Veterans Memo- rial Hall, 1620 Solano St. With a prime rib din- ner, catered by Ranchers Meats and Deli, and live music provided by Thun- der Mountain Music, this is sure to be a great event. A no-host beer and wine bar will be available. Cost is $25 per person. Affordable Care Act The Tehama County Department of Education, 1135 Lincoln St. in Red Bluff, will be holding an Affordable Care Act Up- dates Seminar 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2. This seminar will pro- vide updates to the Afford- able Care Act for 2017 and information on the best values when choosing a health plan. There will be a question and answer por- tion to the event. This event will be held at the Tremont Cafe at 731 Main St. in Red Bluff. Forbes has been an attor- ney for more than 22 years. The last 10 years she has fo- cused her practice in the ar- eas of estate planning, pro- bate and trust adminis- tration. She attended law school at the University of San Diego. Upon graduation, Forbes worked for the Center for Public Interest Law, where she helped to start the Children's Advocacy Insti- tute. She later she worked at a civil law firm in Bev- erly Hills practicing fran- chise law and civil litiga- tion. Forbes was recruited to the North State in 1995 by the law firm of Hanna Bro- phy, where she became one of the first female partners in Redding. She subse- quently formed the law of- fice of Sweeney and Forbes and then joined the law firm of Carr, Kennedy, Pe- terson & Frost, where she began focusing her prac- tice in estate planning, probate and trust admin- istration.
