This year the weather seems to have an influence on our golf games. For
those who stayed home because of the possibility of rain showers for our
last tournament, they would have been pleasantly surprised, no rain and
no wind! Twenty braved the cloudy skies, and one team always seems to
master their game. This week it was David Hopkins and Harvey Gibson
who stole the show with a round of 37. They were followed closely by two
teams, Dave Swindell & Tom Chopski along with Brad Romaine & Jerry
Taylor each fired 39.
Fourth place was won by Bud Key and Linda Taylor who teamed up for a
40. Always having a very competitive field, there were 3 teams who had a
score of 41. Those teammates were Robert Barnard &Tom Chopski , Mac
McLean & Con Smith, and Larry & Debi Jensen. Winners of: closest to
the pin #8 was Jerry Taylor, closest to the pin #9 was Bob Carrington,
long drive #13 was David Hopkins, long drive over age 75 on #13 was Da-
vid Swindell. The only hole-in-one on hole #1 was hit by Jim Mathews.
Our revised January tournaments are Fridays, January 6 and January 27
beginning at 9:00.
