What is SNAP? The Sup- plemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as "food stamps,"is a USDA program that offers nutrition assistance to millions of eli- gible, low-income individuals and families. St. Mary's Food Bank SNAP Coor- dinator will be in Quartzsite to provide SNAP enrollment assistance, changes to existing enrollment, and answer questions for families and individuals in need of SNAP assistance. Please call La Paz County Community Resources at (928)669-6141 x4031 to set a priority appointment. Walk-ins are welcome. A Big THANK YOU to all our Red Kettle bell ringers and those who put money into the kettles. We have raised over $2,000 and still collecting. Remember 100% of these funds stay in Quartzsite. Thank you for the Angel Tree donors. Man children in town will have special package delivery by the Quartzsite Fire Department. Angel Tree recipients were coordi- nated by several agencies this year to give more children in town a special Christmas. We have serviced over twenty clients this past month with warm clothes, blankets, and other items to make their nights in the cold desert more comfortable. We received a $650 Community Outreach Funding grant as for- warded by the Health and Develo- pent by the Town of Quartzsite. We were able to purchase new born and adult diapers. A simple appli- cation process is all that is needed if you need this type of assistance. Come see us. We will be closed Christmas Eve Day and Christmas Day, December 24th & 25th, as well as Monday De- cember 26th. We will also be closed December 31st and January 1st. We'll be open Monday January 2nd. Remember the Christmas Food Box from the Food Bank. Isaiah 58 is serving a home-cooked lasagna dinner on Christmas Day from 4:30-6pm. Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year. They deserve a great thank you, and a thank you to all who have made donations which enables the store to have wonderful items to sell. We donated to Quartzsite Amateur Radio Assoc. and John Medina who installed the Radio Repeater System. The kids are learning how to operate Ham radios, and this system will enable them to com- municate with other small towns throughout the area. We also donated to the Quartzsite P. T. A. This will help school kids in Quartzsite for their extra school needs. And we donated to The Friends of Quartzsite Library. Guild line handouts were given to members showing in the upcoming art show. Last year the Guild ad- opted a name for the show as "The Quartziste Art Guild's South- western Round Up". With the name came changes in the show, allowing additional fi ne art items to be displayed adding diversity and interest. Getting you the pub- lic involved, the show will focus on a scavenger hunt with additional door prize ticket for those who play. Door prizes will include gift certifi cates to our "GREAT" Town Quartzsite Art Guild show planned of Quartzsite businesses supporting and promoting our town. The scav- enger hunt items are found within a painting or showing piece and you can match it to an artist name on the game sheet. The group chose not to vote on a "Best of Show" artist, as there is so much wonderful art that it become too diffi cult to decide.
