How can I obtain a free copy of my
credit report and how often?
Consumers can get free credit reports in
two ways.
• You are entitled to a free copy of your
credit report any time you are denied
credit by contacting the appropriate
credit bureau marked on the adverse
action letter.
• You may also obtain a free copy from
each of the three credit reporting
agencies once every 12 months;
however, we recommend staggering
your request by pulling one every four
months to give you a look at your file all
throughout the year. Ex. January – pull
from Equifax, May – pull from Experian
and September – pull from TransUnion.

the trusted and free website to access
your credit file.

What type of information
should I look for when I view
my credit report?
Look for these things when reviewing
your report:
• Verify all personal information is correct
• Confirm all debt contained within the
report is valid
• Review old active accounts and
consider closing them
• Review inquiries to assure there is an
affiliation with each creditor/company
