The Ivy 3 2016 At-a-Glance Undergraduates Focus on Philanthropy and Sisterhood T he Beta Beta Chapter of Alpha Phi celebrated a successful spring semester. The chapter beautifully executed its 10th annual Red Dress Gala, under the coordination of Red Dress Chairman Alice DuBois '13. We had so much fun and want to thank everyone who helped us carry on the tradition of supporting the Alpha Phi Foundation. Our Red Dress Gala combined with AlphaPhizza, our finals week pizza slice sale, raised $9,741 for Alpha Phi Foundation. In March, Vice President of Programming and Education Kayla Gibbons '15 planned a fun sisterhood event at Spare Time Entertainment in Lansing, Mich. During the sisterhood event, members could socialize, bowl, eat pizza, and do team building exercises. We had a fabulous time bonding as a chapter. Greek Week was another highlight of our spring semester. Our chapter participated in Greek Day of Service by picking up trash in Lansing parks. We also participated in both dance competitions, MTV Night, and Songfest. Our Songfest team came in third place out of all Panhellenic chapters. In April, VP of Marketing Ali Strauss '14 planned Mom's Day, which consisted of a luncheon, craft project, and Lululemon trunk show with our members' moms. It was a great day for our sisterhood. This fall, Beta Beta Chapter saw the second best recruitment results on campus, welcoming and initiating 58 new members into our chapter! We hosted several events including Sundae Phunday, a Homecoming Open House, and a three day Parent's Weekend. We also participated in Safe Halloween in East Lansing. Elections for chapter officers were held in November, and we wish our incoming Executive Council good luck as they prepare to do great things in 2017. The Beta Beta Chapter looks forward to and having another successful year at our newly renovated house at 616 M.A.C Avenue.
