Box 102 Mexico, PA 17056-0102 Address Service Requested ΑΓΡ gamma crescent alumni update Chapter Eternal William "Bill" Altmeyer '55 entered Chapter Eternal on February 4. While attending Penn State, he sang in the Glee Club. After graduation, Bill worked for Babcock and Wilcox at NUMEC in Apollo as a supervisor of the chemical lab for 26 years, retiring in 1985, and was a partner of Leechburg Stainless Steel Inc. Bill was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and sang in a barbershop quartet in the Kiski Valley. He liked collecting Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. But most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alberta M. Summerhill Altmeyer, three children, five grandchildren, a sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews. Edward "Ted" V. MacArthur '63 entered Chapter Eternal on February 27. He was a UniServ for the Pennsylvania State Education Association, retiring 32 years later as the assistant executive director of field services. In retirement, Ted was a well-known and respected antiques dealer. He is survived by his wife, three children, a brother-in-law, three nieces, three grandchildren, 11 great-nieces and nephews, and his beloved Scottish Terrier. Joseph Bowker '67 entered Chapter Eternal on February 3. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a first lieutenant during the Vietnam War and in the Tennessee Army National Guard as a captain. Joseph was a member of the Penn State Alumni Association and the Varsity's Club at Penn State. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, sailing, and camping. Joseph is survived by his wife of 48 years, Candy Bowker, two nephews, and nieces. Alumni News Wyatt Gosnell '61 is an EMT and a lifetime member of The Lake of the Woods Rescue Squad. He lives in Locust Grove, Va. E-mail: wgosnell@aol.com John W. Sutton '63 meets for golf, dinner, and Canada fishing with two other ΑΓΡ brothers after more than 50 years. John is still trading grain every week. He lives in Lansdale, Pa. E-mail: grainman.jws@verizon.net Timothy Strickler '66 is still teaching human and comparative anatomy at Grand Valley State University, running the plastanation lab, and growing a variety of apples as well as providing scionwood for folks who would like to grow their own. He lives in Grand Rapids, Mich. E-mail stricklt@gvsu.edu Rick G. Steinmeyer '69 reports that after many trips to Bonita Springs, Fla., he knew it was where he wanted to be after graduation. Rick spent 10 years in the food industry and learned about GNC when in school, which is the company that built Bonita Bay. Bob Lauffer '73 (Γ1031) proudly displays his game from his most eventful turkey hunt ever on Friday, May 6, and Saturday, May 7. Jim Hallowell '73 (Γ1025) and his wife, Nancy, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in August. They were joined by Lynn Dietrich '70 (Γ978) and his wife, Joyce, as well as Ed Hartman '75 (Γ1062) and his wife, Diane, all whom were part of the wedding back in 1976!
